'Telemach selects Transmode for metro, backbone networks'
Nov 25, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) --
Slovenian cable operator Telemach has contracted Transmode to upgrade
parts of its national network with Transmode WDM equipment. The new
links that will be improved by the Transmode installation include
routes between the capital Ljubljana and Novo mesto, Kocevje and
Trbovlje, and between eastern cities Murska Sobota and Gornja Radgona.
For the Telemach installation, which was deployed during 2009,
Transmode implemented 12 optical add-drop multiplexed (OADM) nodes,
consisting of two TM-3000 and 10 TM-301 systems. Overall, the service
is based on single fibre CWDM and Gigabit Ethernet services are
transported using 9x Gigabit Ethernet over 10G and 2x Gigabit Ethernet
over 2.5G Muxponders. The network is designed to ensure delivery of
multiple services to subscribers. Telemach's network reaches over
4,000km across the country and is based on a combination of optical and
coaxial components.
