Equinix completes acquisition of ALOG
Equinix, Inc., a provider of global data center services, has completed the acquisition of ALOG Data Centers of Brazil S.A. in an all cash transaction. ALOG is among the leading carrier-neutral data center services providers in Brazil and serves approximately 1,000 customers across its two data centers in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In June, ALOG plans to open the first phase of its third center, which will be located in Tambore (a suburb of Sao Paulo). Eaton Signs 10 Year Telecom Tower Sharing Agreement
Vodafone Ghana outsourced the operations and co-location management of 750 telecom towers to Eaton Towers, the African tower company, for a 10 year contract period. As per the agreement, Eaton will have exclusive rights to sell co-location and shared infrastructure facilities to other mobile operators, which will ensure increased revenue generation with separate long-term contracts. Eaton plans to invest up to $80 million on upgrading and improving the existing tower over the 10 year contract period thus enhancing Vodafone's coverage in Ghana. Additionally, Eaton will also develop the existing Vodafone infrastructure, as well as build new telecom towers.
