Telx Deploys Ethernet Exchange Service at Data Centers in Clifton and Dallas
Telx announced that it is deploying new Ethernet Exchange services at its data centers in Clifton, N.J., and Dallas, Texas. Commenting on the new deployments Chris Eldredge, senior executive responsible for Ethernet Exchange and Product Management at Telx said in a release, “This next phase of our strategic service deployment is a win-win for our customers.” “Telx customers in Clifton and Dallas now have the opportunity to colocate their equipment in state-of-the-art data center environments while using our powerful Ethernet Exchange to easily turn up connectivity through direct access to carriers and service providers in other locations, as well as to grow their business ecosystem,” Eldredge added. The Telx Ethernet Exchange will help service providers, enterprises and cloud/SaaS (News Telx a provider of interconnection and colocation services in North American markets revealed that its carrier-neutral Ethernet Exchange will offer a simplified method for enterprises, service providers, cloud providers and ISPs to ensure interconnection on a one-to-many basis. The new deployments are expected to offer customers at Clifton and Dallas greater choices with respect to connectivity and bandwidth. It also offers new business opportunities with other Exchange members via the Ethernet Exchange Customer Web Portal. Telx’s data center in Clifton is located just 11 miles outside of New York City and hence provides the facility to connect to more than 400 carriers, business and financial exchanges and cloud providers as well as large enterprises. Similarly in Dallas, the data center is able to provide secure, direct access to more than 150 network operators, including SaaS, media and entertainment and cloud providers. It is one among premier colocation facilities in the Southwest and also a widely connected data center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, added company officials. The Telx Ethernet Exchange won the 2010 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award and it provides a simplified method of interconnecting service provider networks on a one-to-many basis. According to officials the Telx Ethernet Exchange is powered by the 6.4 TB/s capable Cisco (News Recently TMCnet reported that Telx has entered into a strategic alliance with CoreLink Data Centers, a national provider of data center hosting facilities and services for the management of mission-critical business applications.
