Interxion Extends Partnership with TeliaSonera International Carrier
Interxion (News - Alert) Holding NV, a European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data center services, recently extended its partnership with TeliaSonera (News - Alert) International Carrier to support the delivery of its bundled IP and hosting. Interxion offers cloud- and carrier-neutral colocation data center services to over 1,200 customers through 31 data centers across 11 countries. The solution helps companies like TeliaSonera International Carrier securely deliver mission-critical applications and content to end consumers. With connectivity provided by over 400 carriers and ISPs and 18 European Internet exchanges across its footprint, Interxion has created content and connectivity hubs that foster growing customer communities of interest. With INTERXION, TeliaSonera International Carrier can optimize the availability, scalability and flexibility of its infrastructure. “Partnering with Interxion greatly helps us execute on our strategy in Europe, enhancing our ability to meet customer requirements for high quality Internet access combined with high quality data center services around Europe,” said Justin McAleer, head of Strategy and Business Development, TeliaSonera International Carrier. “In order to support the rapid Internet and cloud business growth we are seeing from content and application providers, we need to have the flexibility to place infrastructure in locations that optimize our solutions. Working with Interxion gives us that flexibility.” “Direct access to TeliaSonera International Carrier’s global network has been available from a number of Interxion data centers for years,” added Mike Hollands, director of Connectivity Segment, Interxion. “This agreement extends our relationship, and we’re pleased to be providing TeliaSonera with additional capabilities as they respond to strong demand from their customers.” In related news, Interxion Holding recently opened the initial phases of new data centers in Paris and London. Interxion has opened its seventh data center in Paris (PAR 7). The facility is designed to support continuous customer loads in excess of 2 kVA per square mile (sqm). The first 500 square meters of equipped space and 0.5 MW of customer power started serving for customer installations in June.
