Recently, Cologix extended its support for the Midwest Internet Cooperative Exchange (MICE), a not-for-profit organization.

Cologix is a company that offers a dependable data center colocation platform in its premier data center colocation facilities. These facilities are located in the most connected areas of the U.S. and Canada.

More than 550 customers depend on Cologix to safeguard and connect their important infrastructure in 11 strategic data center locations in Dallas, Minneapolis, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver where networks connect.

According to the agreement, Cologix will offer features such as power space, and direct connectivity to more than 70 networks from members to the MICE core switch. This will be provided in Cologix’s facility at 511 11th Avenue South in downtown Minneapolis.

MICE was created to enhance Internet connectivity, increase performance and decrease cost by keeping Internet traffic local in the upper Midwest.

“We believe that Minneapolis is a natural place to support the growth of a strong Internet, which is an important element of mature interconnection community,” stated Mike Hemphill, general manager, Cologix Minneapolis. “Cologix believes that exchanges are best positioned for success when they are operated by independent, member driven organizations and are committed to support these models. MICE has established its roots in the Midwest internet community and is investing for significant growth.”

Recently, the company completed its new 3,000-square-foot colocation space at 151 Front Street. The new space brings the network neutral interconnection and colocation company's footprint to 30,000 square feet at the Front Street location. The company will offer more than 50,000 square feet in Toronto, once its additional space at 905 King Street is complete.

The expansions were made in response to increasing customer demand for scalability and network density.
