Telx, an interconnection and colocation provider in North America, announced that iland (News - Alert) has expanded its area of operations of its infrastructure-as-a-service or IaaS services via Telx’s network-neutral data centers.

According to Telx sources its network-rich reliable data center facilities in the cities of Atlanta, New York City and Dallas have served to increase iland’s security level and uptime besides enabling fast response time for customers.

iland provides cloud computing infrastructure. It is a Premier VMware Service Provider that offers enterprise hosted private cloud infrastructure across multiple verticals and through partner alliances. iland allows for business continuity, production infrastructure, and hosted desktop solutions through secure, high-availability datacenters in Boston, Washington, D.C., Houston, Los Angeles, Dallas, and London.

In a release Brian Ussher, President of iland said, “A key differentiator with Telx is their ability to bring us multiple connections with diverse providers, which enables us to uphold higher Service Level Agreements with our customers.”

“We currently use Telx for colocation and interconnection services in Atlanta and New York and also offer our Hybrid Cloud out of Telx’s Dallas facility. As iland continues to grow its customer base, we plan to add more cloud infrastructure services in other Telx facilities. With its 15 U.S. locations and robust service provider ecosystem, Telx has the national presence and offers the level of security and SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type II compliance for IaaS that we were looking for,” Ussher.

Telx delivers secure connection-rich environment in its capacity as a colocation partner. In such cases it can offer low-latency access to its cloud applications and network infrastructure. iland uses Telx’s 8435 Stemmons Freeway location in Dallas for powering its unique Hybrid Cloud platform that brings together private cloud computing benefits and advantages of traditional colocation to provide a mixed virtual and physical environment.

Company sources explained that Telx’s interconnection service eliminates the need for a public Internet connection which ensures high security besides reducing latency and improving quality of service. iland customers will be able to connect their private networks to the cloud.

“We are pleased to be iland’s colocation and interconnection choice in Atlanta, New York and Dallas,” said Rose Klimovich, VP of Product Management and Product Development at Telx. “Telx’s solutions have helped iland maintain the high standards that their customers demand for reliability, security, and latency of their on-demand infrastructure, while enabling them to focus on core competencies such as the continued development of competitive cloud offerings and meeting customer demand in these key U.S. markets.”

Telx provides interconnection, colocation and business exchange services in strategic, high demand North American markets. It has 15 premier facilities and reduces connectivity costs for customers by providing direct connections to networks and access to more than 800 leading telecommunications carriers, ISPs, content providers and enterprises.
