India's federal telecommunications minister, Kapil Sibal, told reporters Saturday that as part of a new telecom policy, mobile telephone operators will now be charged by India a market-determined fee for the bandwidth they hold beyond the limit mentioned in their licenses. Companies will now be allowed to offer any kind of telecommunication services under a single license, but licenses to offer telecom services will now be given without the bandwidth, the Wall Street Journal reported.
