Lexent Metro Connect Partners with FiberMedia
Lexent Metro Connect has announced a strategic partnership with FiberMedia to offer network access space to 75 Broad Street, one of New York’s top carrier hotels.
Lexent Metro Connect, LLC provides enterprise customers and service providers in New York City and its surrounding boroughs with state of the art, custom built dark fiber optic networks. FiberMedia owns and operates a network of datacenters and offers scalable managed services to address critical data management and transport functions for businesses and institutions.
The partnership will help bandwidth intensive organizations build a state-of-the-art, custom built, dark fiber optic network with Lexent Metro Connect and then collocate their core network infrastructure equipment at 75 Broad Street with FiberMedia. They can also benefit from FiberMedia’s network planning, technical support and managed services.
Lexent claims that they are the only truly neutral, open access dark fiber provider in the New York City and their customers rely on them to offer 'freedom of choice' amongst the region's top tier data center facilities. The addition of Fiber Media's 75 Broad Street location to the Lexent network helps meet their clients' rising demands for high quality well connected data center space.
Lexent has stated that it offers SMF ITU-U G.652 compliant dark fiber capable of light transmission at any speed. Dark fiber offers a fast, secure, cost-effective alternative to traditional network models. The company’s customers are offered the flexibility of owning their own custom network and have access to virtually unlimited bandwidth.
FiberMedia has stated that once customer’s dark fiber networks enters their 75 Broad Street data center facility, FiberMedia will work with clients to ensure flexible and affordable datacenter solutions, specifically designed to address critical data storage and other ongoing business concerns.
FiberMedia claims that its solutions help customers to create and interconnect their networks within a cost-effective and solution-oriented environment. Lexent states that its dark fiber is virtually free from outside interference or interception giving its customers the most secure network possible.
Lexent also recently announced the commencement of construction on an ultra low latency metro fiber ring between NYC and NJ and had delivered dark fiber installations in Manhattan.
