Allied Fiber (News - Alert), known for owning, building and operating its own network-neutral fiber optical cable systems, cell towers, data centers etc, also provides companies in the industry with the Dark Fiber Community, an educational platform to share news and maintain discussions for thought leaders looking for new ways to overcome broadband access and fiber optic obstacles.
The Dark Fiber Community (DFC), exclusively on TMCnet, seeks to connect key vendors with buyers that are planning to build and deploy optical transport networks and was formed in response to the rising demands for dark fiber products and services. With 122 members and growing, Allied Fiber is constantly looking for additional companies to add to its community to extend its reach of resources in the fiber market.
The latest company to join the DFC, NeXXCom Wireless, is a broadband wireless equipment and systems business with technology leadership in system latency and expertise in building ultra broadband networks where latency performance is critical.
Each company brings its own area of expertise in the fiber market to add to the impressive community of companies that Allied Fiber has created for its members. The DFC will benefit from NeXXCom’s extensive knowledge of wireless broadband technology, low latency microwave transport systems and wireless high frequency trading networks.
“We are proud to welcome NeXXCom Wireless to the Microwave category of the Dark Fiber Community,” states Hunter Newby (News - Alert), CEO of Allied Fiber. “As the demand for low latency and higher capacity in high frequency trading and mobile backhaul continues to increase, NeXXCom’s expertise in this area will add a depth of knowledge and encourage further activity through the Community.”
NeXXCom offers three product lines that offer a combination of licensed and unlicensed spectra, Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) configurations and self managed mesh networks with payloads to 1,000Mb/s. NeXXCom’s radio technology delivers the industry’s lowest latency, highest capacity carrier class radio system, which is essential to high performance, broadband wireless networks, according to the company.
“NeXXCom’s products address the growth of latency sensitive networks and our services, the need for optimized network designs. Our subsidiary company Layer 1 Wireless, consists of experts that have successfully deployed carrier grade wireless broadband and low latency networks,” states Sal S. Benti , Chairman of NeXXCom Wireless. “We are pleased to join Allied Fiber and the Dark Fiber Community and look forward to complementing the reach of the Community by adding to the resource it provides to the industry.”
