By Carolyn J Dawson
ICOM Networks A/S will be implementing Overture’s best-in-the-market Ethernet over Copper offerings. The telecommunications provider, ICOM will be offering high-speed layer 2 and layer 3 services to its public and enterprise clients across the five national regions of Denmark using Overture's group of offerings.
"We're always looking at how we can do things better – like how we can cost-effectively provide the performance, speed, and dependability that large enterprises demand while continuing to address the unique requirements of our municipal customers,” said Frederik Homan, CFO and COO for ICOM. “We've chosen Overture as our partner because they deliver competent, high-quality equipment and they are an easy company to do business with. Combining its solutions with our own considerable expertise, we are able to consistently deliver world-class service to our expanding base of Danish municipal customers across our network. Overture's products are an integral part of our strategies for continued growth."
ICOM will be incorporating the prize-winning Ethernet-over-Copper (EoC) edge and aggregation offerings from Overture within its network infrastructure. As a result, ICOM will be able to offer scalable Internet and wide area network (WAN) services to a minimum of 10 percent of Denmark's municipal bodies.
Several public institutions and emergency services, schools and nursing homes depend on ICOM for the provision of dependable, high-volume connectivity needed for extremely important applications.
Municipal employees like teachers and revenue agents are also offered broadband access by ICOM. Private organizations see complete telephony and data connections with speeds in the range of 1Mbps to 200Mbps by ICOM.
"Our growing global presence has given us the opportunity to engage with telecommunications innovators worldwide who challenge the status quo in the pursuit of excellence,” said
More than 450 service providers and network operators across the globe prefer the Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation services provided by Overture.
