ATTO Technology Inc, a provider of storage and network connectivity and infrastructure solutions, announced the launch of a new portfolio of 16Gb/s Fiber Channel solutions. The new product line builds on the company’s research and expertise in Fiber Channel technology.

Industry’s broadest portfolio of fiber channel solutions till date, the new product family consists of Celerity Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), FibreConnect switches and FastStream RAID storage controllers.

The new products are capable of delivering greater bandwidth to new and existing storage area networks and expected to boost performance for content creation and data management applications, ATTO explained in a news statement.

ATTO Technology is going to showcase its 16Gb/s family of products along with its portfolio of network and storage connectivity products at the upcoming IBC 2012, held in Amsterdam. ATTO products are also featured in more than 45 partner demonstrations throughout the show.

Based on the latest PCIe 3.0 technology, ATTO’s Celerity 16Gb Fiber Channel HBAs are capable of delivering the highest bandwidth and lowest latency available in the market, ATTO said in the release.

ATTO’s Celerity 16Gb Fiber Channel HBAs can be used to address the needs of workflows including capture, edit, content management and distribution with faster and more efficient data transfers featuring ATTO’s Advanced Data Streaming technology for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux environments, as well as high IOPS IT environments.

ATTO’s FibreConnect 1600 series of 16Gb Fiber Channel switches are engineered to deliver smooth and reliable data transfer on a SAN - a critical component for applications such as video streaming and virtualized environments.

In combination with Celerity 16Gb/s HBA's, FibreConnect switches can provide complete SAN connectivity with significantly high-bandwidth, low latency and the lowest power consumption.

The ATTO FastStream 9000 has been developed as a 16Gb/s Fiber Channel RAID Storage Controller to allow the users to attach to low cost SAS (News - Alert)/SATA JBOD storage creating a RAID protected, high-capacity and low latency solution. ATTO FastStream Storage Controllers enable small to medium sized studios to incorporate a collaborative project environment for ingest, editing, and rendering high definition video, digital film and audio.

In combination with ATTO Celerity HBAs and FibreConnect switches, FastStream 9000 allows the users to incorporate a “pay-as-you-grow” approach to supporting additional client connectivity. They are available in desktop or embeddable form factors.

Earlier, ATTO Technology announced the launch of its Desklink category of products designed to allow all-in-ones, laptops and Ultrabooks to utilize high- performance storage and networks is now shipping. The first two offerings in ATTO's extensive, next generation portfolio of connectivity products are the ThunderLink and ThunderStream devices.
