Equinix Touches Another Milestone
Recently, a leading data center solutions provider Equinix (News Equinix’s European business touched another milestone with the AM3. Across Europe, the company believes that at an accelerated speed of roughly 50 milliseconds the subscribers within AM3 will be able to interconnect with various service providers such as Internet exchange, cloud, network and content. In August, with the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) Equinix set out to develop a customer Point of Presence (PoP) in tandem to make AM3 a success story. The PoP is expected to enable customers to connect and network with AMS-IX’s community, which includes a large number of Internet service providers. Allowing excess heat to warm up domestic houses in the vicinity, the Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage technology, being used in AM3, will also help keep heat generation under control. Contributing to a cleaner environment, the whole process will actually save some energy and help reduce carbon content in the atmosphere. Apart from this to provide its IBX services in Indonesia, Equinix is also setting up a partnership with PT DCI. For data management, Equinix is increasingly becoming popular among major players in the tech industry and also boasts a presence across various geographical regions. Resulting in high network density with a vertically focused approach, the company’s worldwide presence will continue to support demand. With earnings per share exceeding the company’s expectation the company has delivered decent second quarter 2012 results. Edited by Brooke Neuman More Dark Fiber Community Stories
