SARENET Leveraging Overture Carrier Ethernet Product Suite to Enhance Regional Service Offerings
By Madhubanti Rudra
North Carolina-based global Ethernet solutions provider Overture has won a major client. According to a media release, the company will provide the Spanish Internet service provider, SARENET with Overture 4000 and 400 platforms, enabling the service provider to deliver next-generation services to its customers.
SARENET will leverage Overture’s Carrier Ethernet product suite to support a new deployment, designed to offer customers up to 20Mbps services (with capabilities up to 60Mbps) using Overture’s Ethernet-over-copper (EoC) solutions.
This marks a major investment for SARENET, which has been known for its numerous technology advancements and premium business services since its inception in 1987.
SARENET was on the lookout for a solution that would allow it to rapidly deploy a competitive Ethernet offering utilizing local loop unbundling with increased service speeds and reach while improving overall quality and reliability.
The company zeroed in on the Overture solution, which is not only robust, but also comes with exclusive service management capabilities – including zero touch provisioning – and extensive quality of service controls. These, according to SARENET, will help it a competitive advantage in the market, both in terms of rate and reach.
The Overture 400 demarcation device has been designed to deliver feature-rich business broadband services to the last-mile, while the 4000 pay-as-you-grow aggregation platform delivers centralized management and switching for up to 120 of the Overture 400s. Together, the solution delivers from 1Mbps to nearly 100Mbps of symmetrical Ethernet services to each customer over bonded copper.
The solution will enable SARENET to turn-up new services quickly with the tools to manage SLAs and deliver premium Quality of Service (QoS) options, a news statement revealed.
“This new EoC deployment was a very heavily vetted product decision for us, as SARENET is extremely dedicated to customer satisfaction. The Overture Carrier Ethernet solution provides increased bandwidth capability, flexible QoS and superior reliability as well as a number of service management tools that ensure we can deliver on our commitment to our valued customers,” director tecnico at SARENET, Alberto Alvarez, noted in a statement.
In other news, Overture provided details of its Release 12.2 for the Overture 239, 400, 500, 600, 4000 and 6100 product lines.
“This release fulfills the need by offering our customers new tools and features that help shorten and streamline the turn-up cycle. This in turn allows them to recognize revenue earlier and drive substantial cost-savings,” Vijay Raman, vice president of product management and marketing at Overture Networks (News - Alert) said in a statement.
