Cambridge Broadband Networks (News - Alert), NEC Europe Ltd and QSC recently announced that they have entered into a strategic alliance. As part of the contract, CBNL and NEC will offer speedy wireless Internet access to the enterprise clients of QSC.

The VectaStar multipoint microwave equipment from CBNL will be implemented at QSC, thereby fulfilling the high-capacity Internet requirements of the enterprise clients across several cities in Germany. During the initial phase, VectaStar access points and remote terminals will be deployed by QSC and will utilize the accessible 26GHz spectrum.

In a statement, Mr. Bodo Plieth, director, Wireless Networks at QSC said, "We required a solution that could not only satisfy current capacity requirements but one that could be easily enhanced to deliver the inevitable increase in speed and capacity demanded by enterprises in the near future. Rapid and cost effective scalability is also critical and with VectaStar we have a solution that enables us to quickly address the requirements of new customers and to minimize the associated capital and operational costs."

The accessible spectrum is being used by VectaStar to comprehensively collect data over the air. The spectrum is also used by VectaStar to dynamically manage the maximum points in data traffic, ensuring a dependable quality of service.

For the past couple of years, the organizations have successfully ascertained multipoint microwave as one of the chief enabling technologies for wireless access and backhaul. With the rising requirement for increased data capacity, the organization hopes to leverage on the market opportunity and work together with CBNL.
