MegaPath's Broad Ethernet Footprint Just Gets Bigger
Businesses seeking a cost-effective, high-performance access solution to support their bandwidth-intensive applications, are graduating toward Ethernet, and MegaPath (News - Alert), which operates a end-to-end communications network, is helping them do that with its extended Ethernet service. With more organizations needing connectivity to support VoIP, Internet access and MPLS/VPN network requirements, Megapath's extended ethernet service is being regarded as an excellent option for businesses located in outlying areas, especially where Ethernet over copper service is unavailable. In Phoenix, the number of businesses now reached by MegaPath's Ethernet services has tripled and these services reach close to one million business in 25 key markets. Apart from being a cost-effective alternative to more expensive access solutions, Megapath's business Ethernet services, which use loop bonding technology, is expected to ensure that there is no break in business continuity. Moreover, users will also benefit from the competitive advantages offered by Megapath's quality of service capabilities when supporting bandwidth-intensive and performance-critical applications. The company recently completed its 2012 Ethernet over copper expansion (EoC) project, cementing its position as the largest EoC provider in the United States. “As businesses recognize the need for increased bandwidth at lower prices, MegaPath is the only provider proactively addressing their critical business requirements,” noted Dan Foster (News - Alert), president, business markets at MegaPath. With the broadest Ethernet footprint in North America, MegaPath is continuing to invest in an aggressive Ethernet build out and is expected to announce new Ethernet capabilities in early 2013. Recently, Brekeke (News - Alert) Software, developer of SIP telephony software for enterprises and service providers, announced that it has approved MegaPath Corporation to deliver and support the company's SIP Trunking solutions. By participating in this validation testing, the companies are ensuring interoperability between MegaPath's SIP Trunking and Brekeke PBX (News - Alert), so customers receive the highest voice quality.
