Integra Telecom Introduces Dark Fiber Services for Carriers, Wireless Providers, Data Centers and Content Providers
By Tabitha Naylor
A provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, Integra Telecom (News - Alert), Inc., introduced cost-effective and easy-to-deploy dark fiber services for carriers, wireless providers, data centers and content providers.
For wholesale customers as well as large enterprises in industries such as healthcare, government and education, Integra's dark fiber services deliver seamless network expansion, accommodate mobile backhaul and increase on-net connectivity.
Integra's dark fiber services, building upon the strength of its Wholesale Data Networking and Internet products and services, provides bandwidth up to 400 gigabits-per-second (Gbps) of lit transport per fiber pair across Integra's extensive fiber network.
While offering enterprise customers unprecedented flexibility for their own dedicated networks, this highly scalable solution addresses wholesale customer demand for high-bandwidth network capacity and reliable data transport alternatives.
While conserving capital investment in network infrastructure, with more than 150,000 fiber miles owned and operated by Integra, dark fiber customers enjoy robust security for metro or long-haul networks and complete control over network design.
Providing low cost per bit for high bandwidth applications and eliminating variable construction costs, Integra offers multiple lease options including capital lease and Indefeasible Rights of Use (IRU). Moreover, on an individual case basis, the lease-to-own option is also offered.
"As business requirements for high-bandwidth applications continue to increase, both carrier and enterprise customers are evaluating alternatives for cost-effective, highly scalable network data transport," said Joe Harding, senior vice president of marketing at Integra.
He added that depending on customer needs, Integra's dark fiber leverages the value of its network assets, meeting this demand with easy-to-manage, high-bandwidth sold through flexible bundles, lease options or IRU.
While delivering bandwidth-intensive networking solutions to wholesale and enterprise customers, dark fiber services illustrate Integra's strategic focus and supports the company's existing facilities based fiber portfolio including Ethernet services, wavelength services, private line and high speed internet.
