eLynx Chooses ViaWest's Las Vegas Data Center

Downtown Las Vegas has quickly become a hub for business. Today, more good news for the once-suffering area surfaced: eLynx Technologies has expanded its IT infrastructure services within ViaWest’s downtown Las Vegas data center, outsourcing their collocation services.

According to a statement from ViaWest, a “geographically dispersed, secure” data center will “augment” eLynx’s disaster recovery plan.

For Tulsa-based eLynx, Las Vegas was a natural choice, as the area is at a very low risk for natural disasters – according to the ViaWest website, the area has only experienced 17 disasters since 1954.

Michael Vignato, regional vice president of sales and Nevada general manager for ViaWest, says Las Vegas is quickly becoming attractive to companies as a primary or secondary site for data. ViaWest’s Las Vegas location operates 94 UPS modules, produces 1,073 tons of cooling capacity, generates over 7,800 KW of power (as needed), and maintains 930 UPS backup batteries.

Ryan McDonald, IT director for eLynx, says the company has been “very impressed” by what he describes as a “high degree of responsiveness” from the ViaWest team. Colocating their services, he says, has had a positive impact on their business; “By colocating our disaster recovery infrastructure with ViaWest, we've been able to rely on their expert staff to handle the on-going management and operations of our data center space rather than implementing an in-house solution. This has allowed us to truly focus on our core services, furthering growth for our company and enabling a high level of service for our clients."

Vignato shares McDonald’s feelings. He says that his company is “laser focused” on “providing value and innovative services to its clients” and that both companies share a commitment to service excellence.

He went on to describe their partnership as a “strong” one and express his enthusiasm for the growth of the relationship in the years ahead.
