MDC Industria Introduces First Prototype of Plug and Play POP Product Family

MDC Indústria de Contêineres Inteligentes Ltd recently announced the introduction of the P³ - Plug & Play POP product family prototypes. The Plug & Play POPs units have been designed to be cost-effective and energy efficient, connectivity driven Micro Data Centers meant for optimizing the deployment and maintenance of POPs (Points of Presence) within remotely located communities or small to mid-size cities.
In a statement, Yoram Yaeli CEO of MDC Indústria de Contêineres Inteligentes Ltda., said that, “The Plug & Play POPs act as islands of technological stability in a rough ocean of shifting climatic and electric grid conditions. They enable the essential reliable connectivity between remote cities and the Cloud. We have successfully completed the development of our 20 foot MDC (Micro Data Center) and 8 foot PDC (Pico Data Center), the development of the 10 foot NDC (Nano Data Center) is on its way, and upon the NDC launch we will have completed the “roll out”: of the Company’s P³ product line.”
Government organizations, ISPs, operators or even other organizations can use the environmentally friendly Plug & Play POPs for supporting IT and Internet projects across rural communities and cities. These robust units can withstand harsh outdoor conditions, and can operate even in areas affected by frequent power failures.
The units, which can each provide IT collocation space in standard 19” racks, are supported by robust sub-systems which include power & power backup, climate monitoring & control, security and fire & flood detection, grounding & surge protection among other vital attributes. Furthermore, the P³ - Plug & Play POP units can be delivered as a turn-key IT solution featuring pre-installed connectivity and computing platforms.
MDCs, NDCs & PDCs allow for remote operations which mean the IT Network team of a client can control the unit. Each unit has been designed with the HAL2D2 - an advanced on-board control computer, which allows the unit to communicate with a remote control platform - iMAMS (Integrated Monitoring & Maintenance System). The iMAMS software, which serves as an NOC (News - Alert) solution, enables users to easily operate an extensive number of MDCs.
