HomeGrid Forum Displays High-Speed G.hn Home Networking, Multi-Vendor Interoperability at CES
Visitors to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)) in Las Vegas got to see live demonstrations and displays of networks delivering multiple high- definition streams related to the HomeGrid Forum. These showed off some of the newest home networking trends and designs. “This year’s CES has given us the opportunity to showcase the latest developments in G.hn (Gigabit Home Networking),” Matt Theall, president of the HomeGrid Forum, explained in a statement carried by TMCnet. G.hn is a “unified coaxial, phoneline, powerline, and plastic optic fiber home networking technology,” the forum said. “Now that certification of silicon is well under way, the system companies are really making every effort to get their designs ready for certification,” Theall added. “Our focus is now increasingly on being able to demonstrate the benefits of G.hn in terms of its capabilities and advanced features in real world field tests, while ensuring our multi-vendor silicon and system eco-system is well recognized throughout the industry for its strength in numbers. This year at CES we are demonstrating that G.hn is the wired home networking technology to use from now on.
