By Jyothi Shanbhag
ATTO Technology Inc., a specialist in storage and network connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, recently unveiled the Celerity 16Gb/s Fiber Channel Quad-Channel Host Bus Adapter (HBA).
The company introduced the new host adapter with highly intelligent data movement engines that can transfer information efficiently and flawlessly using ATTO's unique hardware and software architecture.
In addition, the new Celerity 16Gb/s Quad-Port Fiber Channel HBAs addresses the OEMs increasing storage requirements and supports higher IOP capabilities. Additionally, ATTO’s target mode drivers enable OEMs to develop unique 16Gb/s storage and server solutions.
“ATTO is excited to kick off our 25th year of providing the market’s most innovative portfolio of storage and network connectivity solutions, with the launch of this industry-first quad-channel 16 Gb/s adapter,” said Wayne Arvidson, vice president of marketing at ATTO Technology, Inc, in a statement. “These products deliver the highest bandwidth and port density, providing original equipment manufacturers and system integrators with an unprecedented solution when designing state-of-the-art data infrastructures.”
Celerity 16Gb/s HBAs blends with VMware 5.1 and Windows Hyper-V Server 2008R2, with Server 2012 updates scheduled for late Q1 2013.
The Celerity product line features ATTO’s Advanced Data Streaming (ADSTM) and promises to offer the highest bandwidth and lowest latency available, as well as reliable and scalable connectivity, at twice the maximum throughput of previous solutions.
“ATTO has been a pioneer in the high-performance data storage industry for a quarter of a century,” added Arvidson. “The addition of this industry first quad-channel 16Gb/s card is further proof of our commitment to deliver innovative storage and network connectivity solutions that solve the toughest challenges facing enterprises today, and in the future.”
These adapters are pre-loaded with ATTO's MultiPath Director, a proprietary technology that allows not just servers, but also high-performance Windows and Linux workstations, direct connection to enterprise class storage.
