Transbeam (News - Alert), a provider of integrated communications solutions, has opened a new data center, a metro Ethernet facility, on Broad Street in Philadelphia, PA.
The new metro Ethernet service will complement Transbeam’s existing services portfolio that includes private data networking, high-speed Internet access, integrated voice and data solutions and more. The services are delivered through its privately owned network.
Transbeam also offers services as event conferencing, remote network backup, colocation facilities, Web-hosting, network design, maintenance, and more to a variety of business customers. The service is also available in greater Philadelphia metropolitan area (also known as LATA 228).
Transbeam's network capabilities also include Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Private Lines and Point-to-Point circuits.
The new Metro Ethernet facility benefits customers in Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware as it provides them with on-net Ethernet-over-Copper (EoC) and Transbeam Optical Network Service (TONS) fiber data services to customers.
All data circuits in the Philadelphia facility can be delivered through a network-to-network interface (NNI) to Transbeam's wholesale customers.
"It is truly an exciting milestone for Transbeam to add a data center facility with all of our network capabilities to expand Transbeam's network footprint," said Peter Karoczkai, SVP, Sales and Marketing of Transbeam.
"The greater Philadelphia metropolitan area is a key market on the East Coast and we believe that the addition of this facility will expand our business opportunities in this region and better serve existing Transbeam customers," Karoczkai added.
