Rainbow Broadband Speeds to Rescue KYLE Edit
By Mini Swamy
KYLE edit, a certified boutique editorial company, was thrilled to move into a beautiful, historic, 100 year-old brick building in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, but the delight was short lived. It found to its dismay that high-speed Internet wasn’t wired into the new place. Its spirits plummeted, and along with the sickening despair came the knowledge that it wouldn’t be able to cater to its blue-chip customers.
To add fuel to the fire, the cobblestone streets outside ruled out the possibility of fiber connection and what the local telco offered was woefully inadequate for KYLE edit’s needs. But out of the blue came the solution that lit KYLE edit’s dreams – Rainbow Broadband (News - Alert), a high speed Internet provider, came to its rescue.
Knowing how important it was for KYLE edit’s business, the Internet provider worked quickly to get a 25 Mbps link up and running.
KYLE edit, which specializes in commercials, emerging media content, feature films and music videos, worked with a wide range of agencies, directors and clients offering the highest level of talent along with personal service, in a creative and collaborative environment.
The company required bandwidth to be able to manage large media files, and according to Jackie Sparks, business manager/controller for KYLE, clients expected to receive updates in the “blink of an eye.”
“At any given time we may be posting 30 files simultaneously, that are 20Mb apiece. That’s a lot of plates to be spinning! Rainbow Broadband is how we keep them all in the air,” said Sparks.
Rainbow Broadband, which beams broadband services to customers in New York City commercial buildings over a hybrid fiber microwave network, gave the boutique editorial company the bandwidth that it needed and a connection that was very fast. What it offered was totally different from the copper network offered by the local telco.
The IT team was also very easy to deal with, the service was flexible and the company was very accommodative as it would crank up the bandwidth when more was needed.
What started off as a disaster, ended on a pleasant note for KYLE edit, thanks to Rainbow Broadband.
