Next-generation networks are becoming more and more complex, and users are looking out for a solution that offers them a wide range of interfaces and rates without compromising portability, speed or cost.

In response to such needs, EXFO (News - Alert) Inc. has rolled out its FTB8830NGE Power Blazer module, the newest addition in a long history of market-leading multiservice testers. This new device is intended to cover all testing needs up to 10G, without losing simplicity. Users can now take advantage of its highly intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), efficient procedures and predefined configurations for their use.

The FTB-8830NGE Power Blazer is the ideal test tool for next-generation converged networks as it offers testing capabilities that range to Ethernet, SONET/SDH, OTN, Fibre Channel as well as packet synchronization (SyncE/1588 PTP) services.

"With the arrival of the FTB-8830NGE Power Blazer, EXFO once again reaffirms its role as an undisputed leader in innovative market-driven multiservice test solutions," said Claudio Mazzuca, vice president of EXFO's Transport and Service Assurance Division. "Since our customers must deliver quality services to generate revenue, our objective is to provide them with appropriate and reliable test tools that will help them overcome their challenges as their network transformation progresses."

The new Power Blazer's comes with dual test-set topology feature that enables quick and accurate asymmetrical service level agreement (SLA) validation. These capabilities when shared with the EtherSAM ( Y.1564 ) and SyncE/1588PTP test suites, makes it the a reliable module for safeguarding peak network performance. The Power Blazer also meets the needs for the turn-up and validation of Fibre Channel circuits at all rates (1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 10x and 16x).

Users can also combine the FTB-8830NGE Power Blazer module with any EXFO optical module for fiber characterization and OSNR qualification, to speed up both the testing and time to service. Users can also expect simpler reporting, thanks to its integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.
