Phoenix NAP, a next generation data center and network access point, reportedly announced that Level 3 Communications (News - Alert) had completed a fiber build project for its Phoenix NAP data center. The latest point-of-presence is expected to act as an E-PoP service for Level 3 Communications.
“We're thrilled to have a provider carrier like Level 3 in our datacenter,” Jordan Jacobs, director of operations for Phoenix NAP, said in a statement. “ The combination of service and Tier 1 bandwidth they provide is a great benefit to our clients and businesses looking for a quality network solution.”
Level 3 will be able to deliver High Speed Internet Protocol Services from the E-PoP service base in the Phoenix NAP facility. It will also provide alternative transport and transit options within its existing repertoire of services.
In addition,  Level 3 will deliver a wide gamut of services using the new fiber build in Phoenix NAP, including private line, wavelength, ethernet private line and multiple variants of virtual private network connectivity solutions.
Jack Waters, chief technology officer at Level 3, spoke about Level 3’s strategic initiatives to extend its relevance in contemporary business and how the move to connect with the Phoenix NAP network was a direct after effect of these steps.
“Level 3 is constantly seeking ways to expand its footprint to increase the number of businesses that can take advantage of our broad service portfolio, so directly connecting our network to the Phoenix NAP simply made sense,” Waters said in a statement.
Clients who require Level 3 services are accorded the opportunity of either approaching the company directly or going to the Phoenix NAP facility. All the Level 3 services which will be offered from the Phoenix NAP facility will be done so by the end of the year. By then, the data center hopes to complete its meet-me room.
