China Wi-Max Communications, Inc. or “CHWM,” a telecommunications and IP transport company, has announced its fiber ring was “lit” by one of its wholly-owned foreign entity companies.

The ring, which has undergone extensive testing, is now ready to provide Internet access to commercial customers.

China Wi-Max was formed in 2006 to provide commercial customers in China with high bandwidth connections by building, owning and operating Internet Protocol based broadband networks, using the company-owned optical fiber and exclusive access to WiMAX (News - Alert) capable wireless spectrum. By combining fiber and wireless assets, China Wi-Max is reaching high-value business customers with a carrier-class network capable of providing huge bandwidth and advanced services.

Steven T. Berman, president and CEO of China Wi-Max said that the fiber ring being lit  is a significant milestone in China Wi-Max’s growth strategy as it will allow China Wi-Max to provide unique and state-of-the-art solutions to business clients' needs in the Beijing marketplace.
