Dot VN, KASATI Test Wireless Technology in Vietnam

Internet and telecommunications company Dot VN has signed a memorandum of understanding agreement with telecom infrastructure deployment company
KASATI Telecom.

Dot VN is the exclusive provider/distributor for E-Band virtual fiber – wireless – technology for the country of Vietnam and a provider for Southeast Asia. KASATI will deploy a 30-day field test of this technology, which will assess the capabilities of the virtual fiber to operate over a distance of approximately 5.5 km, or roughly 3.41 miles.

This test will be conducted in the Mekong Delta in the southernmost region of Vietnam.
KASATI will collect information during this test and provide a report about the performance of the virtual fiber.

Mekong Delta is an underserved area in terms of telecom services. Providers find it difficult to install traditional telecom infrastructure in this relatively rural area of the country dotted with a number of waterways.

Dot VN's E-Band virtual fiber can efficiently and cost-effectively eliminate the need to lay fiber optic cable underground or below bodies of water. This means this area can be served easily connecting people in this region to their friends and family in other parts of the country.

As Dot VN's E-Band virtual fiber also provides better bandwidth and connectivity with over 1 GB, or 1024 MB, per second, it gives tough competition to older microwave technologies from 2 to 311 MB per second currently in use in Vietnam.

This technology will be very useful in the area addressing the powerful connectivity needs of cellular phones working on 3G and 4G technologies.

Thomas Johnson, CEO of Dot VN said that they will have covered all three major regions of Vietnam, with the completion of this test. This will allow them to definitively prove the benefits of E-Band virtual fiber as a cost-effective option available on the market today for deployment throughout Southeast Asia.

“We look forward to KASATI's testing of our E-Band virtual fiber option,” Johnson said.
