Plantronics Wireless Headsets Enhance Job Quality and Productivity

Any employer looking to improve overall ROI for their business, looks to hire the best employees and provide them with an optimal work environment. To drive employee productivity, tools such as Plantronics (News - Alert) wireless headset systems enable employees to optimally conduct business.

According to a recent study by Plantronics, wireless headset usage affects employees’ quality of work life and productivity. The survey, conducted at salesforce.com, a Software-as-a-Service technology company, looked at sales representatives at work in the open environment, who extensively use the telephone to conduct business.

The results of the study indicate that by adopting wireless headsets, companies can increase employee comfort and satisfaction as well as provide measurable gains in productivity because employees are able to more fully focus on the sales call without getting distracted by their surroundings.

Before using Plantronics wireless headsets, the sales representatives at salesforce.com conducted business using wired headsets attached by cords to their telephones. As they sit in open areas, the sales reps were distracted by other reps’ sales calls, which made it hard to focus on their work or move to a quiet place to focus on a call.

Plantronics wireless headsets provided mobility and freedom for sales reps that said their ability to move around significantly improved their job like the ability to a quiet corner; to a conference room or any desired location where they were most at ease conducting a sales call.

The sales reps were also able to leave the headsets on in between calls, or when they left their desks.

At salesforce.com, the employees spend an average of five to six hours a day on the phone. Because they can now move around, stretch, and adjust their posture, they are less stressed and as a result, experience a significant improvement in their productivity at the workplace.
