FreeCRM Offers Verification of Web Pages

FreeCRM.com, an on-demand provider of SaaS (News - Alert) CRM services, has announced it is implementing technology designed to verify the authenticity of its Web pages.

To provide the protection of customer data, FreeCRM.com is deploying Extended Validation Secure Sockets Layer Certificates from VeriSign (News - Alert).

Adding VeriSign EV SSL protections to FreeCRM.com means "businesses can rely on a proven safeguard against hacking into sensitive information stored online," company officials said, adding that FreeCRM.com is "the first on-demand, or Software as a Service, CRM provider to provide this level of security."

More than 4,000 of the Internet's largest merchants and 90 percent of the Internet Retailer 500 employ the VeriSign EV SSL Certificates.

Stone, CEO of CRM ASP, parent company to FreeCRM.com, said "in our industry, data protection is the most important issue for adoption of software-as-a-service."

The new protection is available to FreeCRM.com's Professional Edition customers. When accessing FreeCRM.com services online, customers using the latest high-security browsers will see a green address bar -- an immediately recognizable signal that they have reached a Web site whose authenticity has been certified by VeriSign.

Just last week, FreeCRM.com announced that it has been certified to display the TRUSTe Privacy Seal, which FreeCRM officials say "demonstrates its commitment to data privacy and trust online."

TRUSTe, a privacy certification and seal program, awards its privacy seal to companies that complete the TRUSTe certification process and agree to comply with ongoing oversight.

"We are pleased to join TRUSTe in promoting responsible privacy information practices online," said Eric Stone, CEO of CRM ASP, parent company to Free CRM. "We are committed to ensuring that critical business information is kept private and confidential in our environment and that our customers' data is never shared with third parties for any reason."

The TRUSTe Privacy Seal is given to indicate that a Web site has posted an approved privacy statement and that its information and data gathering practices follow guidelines for notice, choice, access, and security.

FreeCRM.com has invested in security and fraud-prevention, company officials say, and "takes a comprehensive approach to data security and privacy."

Among the security assurance programs Free CRM uses are TRUSTe, VeriSign Extended Validation Security, and the Better Business Bureau Reliability Program.
