CRM's Epicor Selected by Bikini Village

CRM vendor Epicor today announced that Canadian swimwear retailer Groupe Bikini Village has selected the Epicor Retail Software as a Service product.

Bikini Village sells swimwear across Eastern Canada. Headquartered in Boucherville, Québec, the company operates 60 stores under the Bikini Village banner in Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Bikini Village has overhauled and refreshed many of its stores, company officials say, “part of an ambitious renovation and expansion strategy now beginning to yield results.” The company recently posted a 25 percent increase in Q1-2008 year-over-year revenues.

Bikini Village wanted an end-to-end “retail product that would give the company greater inventory visibility, improve operational efficiencies and streamline business processes,” company officials said.

The Epicor Retail SaaS (News - Alert) delivery model is a turnkey retail product billed as “virtually eliminating the need for an on-site retail IT infrastructure.” It has associated implementation and integration services, support and maintenance as well as ongoing updates and upgrades, company officials say.

For a fixed fee plus a one-time start-up charge, the SaaS offering delivers Epicor’s Store, Merchandising, Planning, Audit & Operations Management, CRM and Business Intelligence to store locations and the head office.

Earlier this week Sydney-based Tieman Industries has announced a deal with CRM vendor Epicor, choosing Epicor’s end-to-end enterprise resource planning (ERP) product to “support the company’s needs.”

The product will be implemented with the assistance of Epicor partner COGITA.

Tieman sells transport and material handling equipment from liquid road tankers, warehouse dock products through to their truck tail lifts and vehicle disability access equipment. But hey, you already knew that.

The Epicor product is expected to provide “increased visibility to Tieman across the entire supply chain,” company officials say, from marketing and sales, production and planning, sourcing and procurement and management.

Epicor offered Tieman “a partnership into the future,” said Dale Tieman, joint Managing Director for Tieman Industries. “Epicor had the best product to fit our business needs.”

Epicor is designed to work with make-to-order and mixed-mode manufacturing and distribution companies. Built on a service-oriented architecture, Epicor “enables continuous performance and lean initiatives” and “real-time connectivity between supply-chain applications and partners,” company officials say.
