PEPPM Awards 33 Technology Purchasing Contracts for Use by Schools, Cities

Milton, PA, Dec 10, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Twenty-four companies will be the signatories to 33 new purchasing contracts to be implemented in 2013, under bid awards made recently by the national PEPPM Technology Bidding and Purchasing Program.

The bid awards will enable school districts, colleges, cities, counties, state governments, libraries, and other public agencies and nonprofits to make immediate purchases of needed technology products. The PEPPM program has already conducted the necessary legal work for a public-sector purchase. These steps include advertising; a public opening of sealed, competitive bids; price review, evaluation and comparison; verification of vendor responsibility; and award by a public agency.

PEPPM is a program of the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU), a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, serving school districts and other government agencies for more than 30 years. Schools and communities across the U.S. use PEPPM's piggybackable purchasing contracts to avoid the duplicative process of advertising and soliciting bids, while enjoying the buying advantage that comes from school, college, city and county participation in 45 states. There is no charge for users.

Bids will go into effect on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Pricing and ordering instructions will appear on PEPPM's website at http://www.PEPPM.org.

The awards fall into 13 broad categories. In the networking category, awards were made for Atlona Technologies, TeachLogic, Fortinet, InfoExpress, Hubbell and Mohawk product lines.

For a variety of data management solutions, Acronis, ArcMail Technology, Applied Voice & Speech Technologies (AVST), Hitachi Data Systems and Nextraq awards will be available.

Anthro Technology Furniture, Custom Educational Furniture, Ironwood Manufacturing, Nova Solutions and Paragon Furniture will be added to the current technology furniture product lines.

Three product lines were awarded for cloud-based solutions, including Computer Lab International, Meraki and Stoneware.

The category of audio and audio-visual products saw the addition of Applied Network Intelligence, Recordex, Pathway Innovation and Technologies, TOA Electronics and Arclite Optronics Corporation.

To benefit school industrial arts, college vocational courses and city maintenance yards, three contract awards were made for the Epilog Laser brand of engravers; the Techno brand of routers, mills, lathes, plasma cutting systems; and the Stratasys brand of three-dimensional printers.

Contracts in other categories will include Ergotron, MobileIron, Airwatch, PCS Revenue Control Systems, Google (hardware and software) and the Oce brand of copiers.

Awardees for these contracts promised to make their lowest prices available through the PEPPM program to schools and public agencies, and agreed to ship all products free when orders total $500 or more. Press releases can be found at http://www.PEPPM.org/press.
