Evoswitch provides colocation and data center housing. Its data centers are known to cater to strict federal security standards that consist of a minimum 150-inch secured vehicle standoff, vehicle arrest barriers, K-12 fencing, guarded entrances, man traps, biometric access controls and various video surveillance zones.

The company makes use of modular data center units to run mission-critical IT or Web infrastructure.

Recently, Evoswitch announced it will open its new WDC1 data center in the United States on January 1, 2013. With this the company looks to enter the U.S. market, as the company had remarkable demand for its solutions of late.

The company has stated that WDC1 will open with 27 percent of the first phase, which is already sold to users.

The company has also entered into a long-term lease for a data center facility in Manassas, VA. Phase One will start with an initial commitment of three megawatts (MW) of important power, with chances for future expansion.

"We are truly excited to be one of the first European providers of carrier-neutral data center services to expand into the United States and launch with a secure, scalable facility in one of the most densely interconnected regions in the world,” said Eric Boonstra, CEO at EvoSwitch. “We believe that our brand of innovative and sustainable carrier-neutral colocation will provide an excellent alternative for the many Cloud, digital media and telecommunications companies looking for carrier-neutral data center services.”

Recently, the company was added to the list of providers that make use of AMS-IX Point of Presence (PoP). The datacenter will be the first in which AMS-IX uses a single 100GE backbone connection. According to EvoSwitch, to efficiently run users’ (mission-critical) IT or Web infrastructure, it makes use of modular data center units.

Lowering their time- to-market and enabling the data center to offer them competitive pricing for their colocation requirements, these units create a fast and simple solution.
