Aviat Networks, Inc. Announces New Venture with East Bay Regional Communications
Aviat (News - Alert) Networks, Inc. announced a multi-year agreement with East Bay Regional Communication Systems (EBRCS) to upgrade a regional public safety system for 24/7 monitoring. The company will provide EBRCS with strategically placed Network Operations Centers (NOCs) to assure that the system is under constant monitoring. The biggest benefit for EBRCS is the guarantee, that even in the wake of a natural disaster, Aviat Networks can continue to monitor at strategically located NOCs. Though the services reach throughout California counties, including Contra Costa and Alameda, two NOC (News - Alert) offices will be stationed in Silicon Valley and Texas. One major benefit of using this monitoring system is that P25 voice communications will be handled in real time with minimized latency, and public safety data communications will be transported by this crucial system. When public safety is a concern a response team is sent immediately instead of waiting for a delay. This could ultimately save many lives in the area. Aviat Networks offer continued monitoring. The mission-critical network will support more than 12,000 EMS users throughout the East Bay. Other perks of the new system is lower costs spent on management. Instead of hiring additional people to run on-site management, Aviat Networks helps public safety departments cut costs by 25-percent. It also improves communication because the up time minimizes the interruptions on the network. This again means that response is timely.
