Safehosts Selects Zayo's Fiber Optic Solutions to Support UK Data Center

Louisville, Colo- based, international provider of fiber-based bandwidth infrastructure and network-neutral colocation and interconnection services, Zayo Group (News - Alert) announced that it will be providing Safehosts' London Data Center with fiber optic solutions. Zayo is the first carrier to provide fiber connectivity to support Safehosts' Data Center. 

Safehosts is a high powered, energy efficient data Center, focused on providing colocation hosting to IT specialist clients and the wider small and medium enterprise (SME) market. Ensuring the delivery of high speed, high availability bandwidth to the customers can be vital for the company’s success.

Zayo's network is expected to provide Safehost with a resilient, secure, and private managed connection for meeting its customers’ bandwidth demands, the company clarified in a press release.

Through its regional, metro, national, international, and fiber-to-the-tower networks, Zayo serves wireline and wireless carriers, data centers, Internet content and services companies, high bandwidth enterprises as well as federal, state and local government agencies.

“Zayo's focus is to deliver dedicated bandwidth solutions to corporations with a requirement for resilient, secure connectivity. Our fiber network throughout London enables standard diverse or bespoke solutions based on the customers' needs,” VP of Sales at Zayo, Alan Berryman commented in a statement.

“Our business is founded on offering a core range of IT services to the SME market; therefore it is vital that we are able to deliver and guarantee high speed, high availability bandwidth to our customers. Zayo's diverse fiber optic solutions support the prerequisite of our business for high bandwidth solutions, unmatched resiliency and network security,” sales director at Safehosts, Dave Cartwright noted in a statement.

In other news, Zayo Group announced that it has completed its acquisition of FiberGate, Inc., a Washington, D.C. metro area provider of dark fiber services. The acquisition adds 399 new route miles and 130,000 fiber miles in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, Baltimore, and suburban Maryland to Zayo's network.

"The FiberGate and Zayo networks are very complementary. As a result of the acquisition, we will have one of the most comprehensive fiber networks in the DC area of any provider,” CEO of Zayo Group, Dan Carusonotedin a statement.
