GLDS Integrates Its WinCable Billing and Subscriber Management Solution with Huawei's U2000 NMS
By Calvin Azuri
In a statement, Huawei Kenya Representative office CEO Mr. Wind Li, while talking about the partnership, said that “Huawei is honored with this strategic partnership with GLDS being the very first integration of our solutions. This will help reduce operational cost significantly allowing fast and easy deployment of Huawei FTTx GPON solution for fixed broadband services in Kenya, through which customer user experience can be enhanced by up to 100mbps to home speeds on fiber access networks.”
The newly announced solution which will be deployed by the Wananchi Group in Kenya has been developed to provide comprehensive service delivery control of voice, video, and data services, directly from the billing system. GLDS is a expert in billing, subscriber management and provisioning systems for small-to-medium global broadband providers.
GLDS' president Garrick Russell said that, “Given the importance of FTTX within traditional and new video markets, and the predominance of Huawei's products and solutions in both, we understood the strategic importance of completing this integration. A popular choice among FTTH providers, GLDS has invested considerable resources to ensure we provide our customers with efficient, cost-effective ways of managing fiber-based service delivery, and we're proud to be working with the world's largest and most well-respected ICT solutions provider to expand our footprint into new markets.”
GLDS’ newly integrated billing system offers multiple benefits such as substantial reduction in revenue loss and improved customer satisfaction. By providing direct provisioning, the billing system makes it easy for operators to optimize the ‘triple-play’ service delivery thereby mitigating the need for multiple disparate systems. Furthermore operators will also be able to manage their Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) network without the need for any extra mediation or provisioning layers.
