By Anil Sharma
Cirex, a communications service provider in Russia, has connected IXcellerate's Tier 3 Moscow One datacenter to its dedicated fiber network to enable customers to benefit from the fastest speeds and most secure connections to their vital data and applications.
Officials with Ixcellerate said that two geographically independent routes are being implemented with the first already in place and operational.
Demand for premium carrier-neutral data center in Russia continues to grow rapidly.
Company officials pointed out that Phase I construction of IXcellerate’s 6,200 square metre datacenter is on schedule with load testing due November 2012 .
“To be part of IXcellerate’s launch in Q4 this year is very exciting to us,” said Alexander Vakhtin, managing director of Cirex, in a statement.
Vakhtin said that IXcellerate brings a data center to Moscow which benefits the Russian market with the western standards of quality, management and technologies.
“We warmly welcome IXcellerate into our local telecom community and look forward to a long-term relationship,” he said.
“We welcome Cirex as our third fibre network arrival at this exciting new datacentre location. We are seeing a strong pipeline of enterprise customers keen to access a high level of datacentre operations expertise, and we expect this will greatly benefit the network operators based at IXcellerate," said Cliff Gauntlett, chief operating officer, Ixcellerate.
IXcellerate is a datacenter project founded by Guy Willner (co-founder and former CEO of IXEurope), former president Europe for Equinix (News - Alert) Inc.), and Cliff Gauntlett (former senior vice president of Golden Telecom).
The project will encompass the construction and operation of a 6,200 square meter, carrier neutral data center in Moscow set on a 15,000 square meter campus. The data center will be built over three phases, with the first 1000 square meters planned to be in operation in Q4 2012.
