Comtech Telecommunications (News - Alert) Corp., an organization that designs, develops, produces and markets innovative products, systems and services for advanced communications solutions, recently announced that its subsidiary, Comtech PST Corp., has received a $3.2-million order for broadband, solid-state, high-power RF microwave amplifiers and spares from a domestic OEM.
The solid-state power amplifiers are offered in frequency ranges from 1 MHz through 6.0 GHz, with output power levels ranging from 5 watts to over 30 kW. Standard and customized products are available in amplifier module building blocks and rack-mountable amplifier units.
These amplifiers are used in a variety of domestic and international high-technology markets, including defense, wireless and satellite communications, cellular instrumentation, electromagnetic compatibility testing, and medical testing systems.
Commenting on this contract award, Fred Kornberg (News - Alert), president and CEO at Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said, "This order demonstrates our continued leadership position in providing communications jamming technology and the ongoing need for our high-power broadband amplifiers that are utilized by major electronic warfare application programs in both domestic and international markets."
Comtech EF Data (News - Alert) Corporation recently announced that it will preview the new CDM-760 Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modem at the AfricaCom 2012 show in Cape Town, South Africa next week. The CDM-760 builds on Comtech EF Data's award-winning family of high-speed trunking modems, and was designed to be the most efficient and highest throughput point-to-point trunking modem.
The device provides ultra-wide band symbol rates, near theoretical performance with minimal implementation loss, the DVB-S2 Efficiency Boost technology, Super Jumbo Frame Ethernet support and other value-added features.
The CDM-760 Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modem supports symbol rates of 1 ksps to 150 Msps and data rates up to 314 Mbps simplex and 628 Mbps duplex.
Demonstrating an industry breakthrough, these astounding data rates can be achieved when using 8PSK, 16APSK or 32APSK modulation.
