MTS Spreads Its Technology to Latest Manitoba Community

Earlier this week, MTS (News - Alert) announced that, to be connected to its innovative MTS FiON Network, Carberry is the latest Manitoba community. To provide customers with the most advanced telecommunication services MTS currently offers – including its industry-leading MTS Ultimate TV service – the MTS FiON Network uses fibre-to-the-home technology.
While providing subscribers access to Video on Demand and Pay-Per-View events, MTS Ultimate TV offers a wide variety of informative and entertaining apps, such as Facebook (News - Alert) on TV and the KARAOKE Channel, and is considered as one of Canada's most feature-rich television services.
"Our MTS Ultimate TV service is changing the way Manitobans watch TV. With over 420 channels, 110 of which are HD, and features such as the Whole Home PVR, I'm pleased this revolutionary service is now available in Carberry," said Kelvin Shepherd, president of MTS.
Including three new high-speed Internet plans, the MTS FiON Network also supports an exciting suite of high-speed Internet products. Exclusive to communities where MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network and with download speeds of up to 250 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 30 Mbps, these very high-speed Internet plans offer unlimited usage.
In Manitoba, in order to deploy its fibre-to-the-home network to 120,000 homes, MTS is investing $125 million over several years. MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network in Selkirk, Steinbach, Dauphin, Thompson, The Pas, Neepawa, Carberry, select areas of Winnipeg, since 2010 and soon, it will be coming to Minnedosa and Killarney.
In Manitoba, for residential and business customers, MTS is a full-service communications provider. The latest in wireless technology, high-speed Internet, an award-winning IPTV (News - Alert) service, voice services, home security, and an extensive range of business solutions, are included in the company's suite of products and services.
