Onvoy's Entry into New York - A Harbinger for Future Expansion?
By Mini Swamy
Onvoy, a provider of wholesale telecommunication services, has begun the New Year on a bright note and is all set to carry the optimism into the second quarter of 2013. The company has added 121 new rate centers in New York that will provide an entry for its VoIP services into the region.
A subsidiary of Zayo Group (News - Alert) Holdings, Inc. Onvoy voice services is headquartered in Minnesota and runs on a dedicated national network provided by Zayo. The unique fiber network covers all major markets in Minnesota. Rate centers from NY to Los Angeles are interconnected by this fiber –based network, making future expansion possible.
Also, the network is reported to be highly reliable and provides exceptional voice quality, two very important features for VoIP services.
The addition of rate centers in New York is being seen as the beginning of big VoIP expansion plans that will enable Onvoy customers to access the largest metropolitan area in the United States. Onvoy's VoIP service includes local and toll free DIDs, CNAM, E911, SMS, long distance and International calling. A single IP connection and feature server is sufficient to access the Onvoy VoIP platform.
"Onvoy plans to grow its VoIP footprint aggressively in 2013 and we're very excited to start that expansion in New York," stated Fritz Hendricks, president at Onvoy, and added, "Look for Onvoy to provide nationwide VoIP coverage in the second quarter of this year."
Onvoy Voice Services, which processes more than a million calls every day, was formed to provide dedicated service to local exchange carriers (LEC) and other communications providers to support its competitive needs. It is consistently developing new products and services to keep pace with evolving technology.
Sonus Networks, Inc., a market leader in next-generation IP-based network solutions, announced that Onvoy Voice Services, a provider of wholesale telecom services to wireline and wireless telecom companies, has teamed with Sonus to support Onvoy's expansion initiatives.
