Sunrise Telecom Announces Firmware Update
By Oliver VanDervoort
Sunrise Telecom (News - Alert) has been working over the last few years in order to be recognized as one of the top companies in the monitoring and workflow management solutions sector for most of the communication industry, including cable and telecommunications.
The company as reinvested quite a bit of their resource in improving existing technology, while also putting out several lines of new tech at the same time. The company’s latest move is the release of a firmware upgrade to their CM3000 Cable Modem Network and Spectrum (News - Alert) Analyzer and CM3800 Sweep System and DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Network Analyzer.
These upgrades make it easier for technicians to figure out and troubleshoot any problems that might arise in the RF and fiber distribution network. While the upgrades are certainly going to help Sunrise Telecom employees distribute and repair the technology, customers will also see an increase in efficiency with features, such as improved spectrum display and sweep rates regularly hitting 100 mSec. These higher quality cable modem network analyzers will make the company much better suited to increase their software and firmware in the future as well.
“The firmware release is significant to the CATV industry because it vastly improves the capabilities of our CM3000 product family to give technicians the ability to identify and resolve network impairments before they actually impact the customers,” Jack Webb, product manager at Sunrise Telecom said in the statement announcing the firmware upgrade. “These performance enhancements enable technicians to accurately troubleshoot difficult electrical interference and short duration impulse noise problems – capabilities that are beyond the scope of typical Digital Service Activation Meters.”
Sunrise added new IPv6 Test Capabilities to their RxT Smart Productivity Test Platform just last spring.
