By Raju Shanbhag
Dark fiber provides various operational benefits to the users. It enables service providers to upgrade to the latest technologies and provides unprecedented levels of control over bandwidth, along with the flexibility of allocating it as needed.
Lightower Fiber Networks, a company that provides dark fiber network solutions to government bodies, has announced that the company has earned the status of authorized vendor with the Massachusetts state government. With this, the company can now offer various internet and network related services to government bodies in Massachusetts.
Lightower has vast experience in offering fiber solutions to government bodies all over the world. The company provides fiber solutions that facilitate government bodies to deploy reliable network services. The solution can be customized to provide transparent and safe services, the company claims.
The company is based in Massachusetts and offers high-bandwidth networking solutions to its government customers. With this new contract, all the members of Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC) will be able to purchase these services.
Apart from being safe and reliable, Lightower Dark Fiber helps users to comply with strict regulations. It also allows service providers to update bandwidth as required and deploy new technologies easily.
“Lightower’s networking solutions provide bandwidth capacities and low latencies only available with fiber-based services while still offering complete flexibility for the customer,” stated Doug Dalissandro, EVP of Sales for Lightower. “Government customers have unique requirements and our customized solutions also offer simple upgrade paths in the future. For example, a Lightower government customer with Ethernet today can easily scale up their bandwidth, add services, or move to dark fiber in the future as their needs grow.”
Recently, the company merged with Sidera Networks to be acquired by Berkshire Partners. After merging Lightower Fiber Networks and Sidera, Berkshire Partners will form a new company.
