Hudson Fiber Network, a transport and IP services provider serving the needs of the financial companies, unveiled its new Mahwah optic fiber route.

The company developed and architected the optical lit platform on the Mahwah route and Cross River Fiber designed and laid the physical fiber optic route. New Jersey-based Cross River Fiber specializes in providing boutique dark fiber transport solutions.

Brett Diamond, president of HFN said, “There has been much hype about delivering substantial latency reductions for the financial services community across the New York metro area. HFN is the first to deliver the lowest fiber latency connectivity possible for the four new paths.”

“Our commercial exclusivity on the new route, through Cross River Fiber, enables us to not only provide optimal performance, but also maintain best value redundancy for the highly sought-after route,” Diamond added.

According to officials the new paths are expected to provide the shortest and fastest routes between Mahwah and locations in Secaucus Road, Halsey Street, Federal Boulevard and Boulevard East.

On an average the new route provides 41 percent latency reduction across key data center hubs in New Jersey. Latency measurement with Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) metrics has been completed successfully, said officials.

HFN will deliver dark fiber and lit services besides HFN’s optimized wave services on this route. Also fully protected and redundant solutions will be provided for individual clients. Clients can choose their own frequency through HFN’s passive wave offering.

Keith Muller, CEO of HFN remarked, “The surge of customer activation demonstrates how essential the Mahwah route is for the top financial institutions in New York, New Jersey and elsewhere. Our commitment to design and build customer-driven solutions for the financial community continues to deliver critical advantages for our clients and set us apart as the premier expert and partner to the industry.”

In June 2012, Hudson Fiber Network entered into a partnership with Cross River Fiber to provide connectivity from Mahwah, N.J. to three remote financial locations in Secaucus, Newark and Carteret.
