Wolfe to Establish PoP at Telx's Data Center in Atlanta
By Calvin Azuri
Wolfe (News - Alert) announced that the company will establish a Point-of-Presence (PoP) facility at the Atlanta based data center ATL1, owned by Telx. The current development further enhances the association between both the companies to Atlanta as the organizations previously collaborated for Wolfe to operate Telx’s data center in New York City.
In a release, Mike Scott, General Manager at Wolfe, said “Telx provides us with an opportunity to expand our national footprint and grow our business into the southeast. Our first point-of-presence (POP) in Atlanta enables us to not only service businesses in and around the city but to also provide our 100 gig service between Atlanta and other major cities. Telx provides us the reliability and security to colocate our POP in a data center that provides us an exceptional level of customer service along with the power, cooling and security we require to operate in Atlanta.”
Telx’s ATL1 data center in Atlanta hosts maximum number of telecommunication companies operating in the Southeast region and occupies most of the fiber bandwidth running down from New York City to Florida. The colocation agreement with Telx will enable Wolfe to strategically provide uninterrupted Metro Ethernet services across Atlanta, Chicago and New York while the facility is also expected to serve as a launching pad for Metro Ethernet services across South Florida.
Speaking of the development, Tony Rossabi, Senior Vice President for Service Provider Sales at Telx, said “Telx is pleased to expand our relationship with Wolfe by opening a new POP with them at our strategically located Atlanta data center. Wolfe's Ethernet service options are part of an emerging trend in connecting cloud and SaaS (News - Alert) services and to other cloud markets and enterprises. Telx is proud to partner with Wolfe in hosting its new Southeast point-of-presence.”
Wolfe is engaged in providing Ethernet connectivity and related internet solutions including Metro Ethernet, Ethernet Transport Service, IPVN and VPLS services.
Telx is engaged in providing interconnectivity, datacenter and cloud enablement services through its 20 strategically located data centers across the North American region. The solutions provided by the company help organizations to significantly reduce the costs on connectivity enhancements as Telx provides direct connectivity to high performance networks in the industry.
